Before production begins, all fabrics and trims are checked for:
1. Color consistency
2. Fabric strength and GSM
3. Shrinkage levels
4. Dye fastness
5. Surface defects (holes, slubs, etc.)
In-Line Quality Checks
Quality inspectors monitor stitching in real-time:
1. Seam strength and alignment
2. Thread tension and stitch density
3. Label placement and tag attachment
4. Compliance with measurement specs
This helps catch errors early and avoid rework at later stages.
Measurement Verification
Each garment batch is measured against approved size charts:
1. Shoulder width, chest, length, sleeve, inseam, etc.
2. Tolerance levels maintained as per buyer standards
3. Rejected items are sent back for corrections
Final Audits (AQL System)
Before packing, a random batch is checked using the AQL (Acceptable Quality Limit) method:
1. Usually done on 2.5 or 1.5 AQL standard depending on the buyer
2. Ensures statistical confidence in shipment quality
Metal Detection (if applicable)
To ensure customer safety, garments pass through a metal detector (especially for kidswear and export garments) to detect broken needles or metallic fragments.
Visual Inspection
Garments are visually checked under good lighting for:
1. Fabric stains or marks
2. Loose threads or skipped stitches
3. Symmetry and pattern matching
4. Printing/embroidery alignment
Packaging Quality
Garments are inspected for proper folding, correct hang tags, size stickers, and packaging as per client SOP:
1. No wrinkles or damage
2. Barcodes and carton labeling accuracy
3. Correct quantity in each carton
Special quality parameters can be followed as per the client’s quality control requirement on demand
